Thanksgiving

  1. Our spiritual home (the church)--the warmth, love, unity and fellowship.  We feel so blessed to be a part of this church.  Praise God for this FAMILY of brothers and sisters.
  2. Our prayer meetings and the sense of joy and anticipation when we come.
  3. Ours and family members' health, strength and safety.
  4. In our lives, things may not go as we plan, but praise God, He "works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).  The joy of seeing a cactus flower bloom, etc.

Other Prayer Items:

  1. Let’s all continue to pray for the English ministry.  Currently we have an English bible study on Fridays, youth group on Saturdays, youth Sunday school, and adult English Sunday school on the Lord’s day.  Let’s pray that these groups will grow deeper in their knowledge of the Lord and that the Lord will raise up English-speaking leaders for this ministry.  Let's pray that the English speakers and the second generation Asian Americans will feel a sense of belonging and ownership to our church.
  2. Several brothers and sisters in our church are battling health problems or have friends and families who have fallen ill. Please remember them in your prayers. Science and modern medicine can do wonders today, but our Jehovah is the greatest healer. May he bring peace and healing to our families, and may we use the challenges in our lives to draw closer to our great shepherd.
  3. The growth and the nurturance of those who have recently been baptized.
  4. Seekers class and for the coordinators.
  5. Please continue to pray for OUR NATION, OUR PRESIDENT and LEADERS.
  6. Those who are unemployed, that the LORD will open a way for them.
  7. The creation of a senior fellowship for the older ones among us.
  8. Missionaries (Uncle Ming, the Metcalfs, and those who may not be known by name). Pray for those who are on the frontline fighting this spiritual battle to further God's kingdom!
  9. Unsaved family members, relatives, plea with tears for them. Please pray especially for those whose husbands are not yet saved, pray that the LORD will bring whole families unto Himself.  Pray that each of us will flow forth Christ's love to them, that they'll come to experience God's love in our love for them.
  10. Church building project: unity and one purpose in Spirit, the LORD to touch hearts to give (where your heart is...), and for us to examine.
  11. SAFETY for all and HARMONY and LOVE to PERMEATE each HOME.
  12. For us to REMEMBER the LORD throughout the day, HE ALWAYS REMEMBERS US.
  13. Pray for OUR NATION in this time of conflict, that the LORD will give our leaders, esp. Pres. Bush wisdom, safety and strength for our troops serving in the Middle East and elsewhere, peace for their family members, the LORD to be over all events in the world.
  14. The LORD will raise up more priests among us to serve Him.
  15. Prayer for the healing of all those who are ill, health for each person.
  16. For the LORD to make each home a sweet home, and healing for broken homes, love to bind up wounds and to restore harmony.
  17. Care groups-that the LORD will put us into action as we pray for Him to mobilize us. 2 families combine as 1 unit to visit brothers and sisters weekly.
  18. Possible church gospel meeting and church retreat.
  19. All Sunday School teachers to attend prayer meetings regularly.
  20. Outreach to the community -- funds for Sacramento County prison's chaplain to have bibles to give to inmates, pastoral visits as spiritual outreach from brothers and sisters to Asian prisoners (post-911, incarcerated for illegal immigration) who speak Mandarin, Cantonese.
  21. Praise God for the love of the brothers and sisters, may we continue to spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).
  22. Please continue to pray for all those who are ill. Let us cling to the LORD at all times.
  23. Seekers to partake in daily devotional prayers with our Lord. Need brothers and sisters to invite seekers to partner with them in prayers during lunch on Lord's Day (one-on-one training).
  24. Brothers and sisters to stand firm in their faith as in James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  25. Church building project: Brothers and sisters to pray at 9:00 p.m. every night from your home for the building committee members to receive revelation and guidance from our Lord on how to acquire biblical actions/responses in fundraising activities, and to maintain oneness and harmony in Christ amongst all church members.
  26. Our Lord to bring teachers and teaching assistants for the Children's Sunday school (1st to 6th graders) to reduce the class size, and to provide additional classroom space.
  27. College students to have mentors to assist them in their spiritual growth.
  28. Brothers and sisters to have the tender heart of a shepherd.  Those who are serving in the Church - sharing, teaching, musician, leading worship service, kitchen service, baby sitters; etc., to build character from practicing His words.
  29. Genuine bonding among the fellowship group members to support each other as shepherd and confidant in Christ - brother group, sister group, youth group, career group & Cantonese speaking group; etc.
  30. Those who are serving in the Church - sharing, teaching, musician, leading worship service, kitchen service, baby sitters; etc.
  31. Formation of care / cell groups from counseling groups - three service areas: Assist in teaching Seeker's Sunday School, meet and greet every newcomer during breaks and lunches, and team visitations which include open house and welcome letter mailing.
  32. Sunday's meetings - speaker, translators, song leader, musicians, teachers, listeners, etc. Special prayers needed for translators in training and shortage of pianists.
  33. Young Adults (Youth): genuine faith, priorities, living Christ-like life, etc.
  34. Seekers in our Church, that the Spirit of God will speak to them.
  35. Cantonese fellowship: Care & support, Spiritual growth in the Lord.
  36. Colleague and Careers fellowship: Care & support, Spiritual growth in the Lord.
  37. Preparation of hearts and ears of brothers and sisters to receive the word of God.
  38. God be honored and glorified in the service.
  39. Spiritual growth (more Christ-Like) & also to have good Bible knowledge as the Church read the Word of God together.
  40. Wisdom, unity and harmony in the church web site design.
